Welcoming Purim, Gourmet Glatt-Style

Outside, it was still feeling a lot like Chanukah, but inside Gourmet Glatt on Thursday (March 13) and Friday (March 14), Purim was definitely in the air. The store got into the Purim spirit with a “carnival in the aisles” that featured strolling clowns and lots of special gifts and surprises. Adding to Friday’s pre-Purim festivities was another Gourmet Glatt-sponsored live webcast of the popular Nachum Segal Network (NSN) show, Table for 2–hosted by Gourmet Glatt’s own cooking consultant, Naomi Nachman, aka The Aussie Gourmet.  In early February, Naomi worked her culinary magic at an in-store cooking demo co-sponsored by Gourmet Glatt and Ossieís Famous Fish. The ever-vivacious chef delighted shoppers with three delicious recipes featuring fresh tuna, salmon and bronzini, respectively. Said an equally delighted Naomi, “I just love teaching people how easy it is to make fresh, healthy suppers with fish.”

Gourmet Glatt Receives Cedarhurst Merchant of the Year Award

On Monday, March 13, Gourmet Glatt’s Moshe Ratner and Yoeli Steinberg accepted the Cedarhurst Business Improvement District (BID) 2013 Merchant of the Year Award on behalf of the store.
According to BID executive director Ms. Teri Schure, who was on hand for the presentation, the award was presented “in recognition of Gourmet Glatt’s commitment to the Village of Cedarhurst, its excellent customer service, and its standing as a reliable, quality retail establishment.”

(Prepare to) Pardon Our Appearance

Many of our shoppers may have noticed the construction going on in the now-empty store right next door to Gourmet Glatt and surmised that the space would be incorporated into our store.
Well–they surmised correctly. Gourmet Glatt is, indeed, being expanded.
“It’s all part of our mission to give customers as pleasant and comfortable a shopping experience as possible,” says vice president and general manager Yoeli Steinberg. He notes that the store will be fully operational during the expansion and remodeling process, which is slated to begin right after Pesach.
“We apologize in advance for any minor inconveniences as we make our transition to an even bigger and better Gourmet Glatt.”

Gourmet Glatt and Tova Work in Harmony to Benefit  Community Youth

Gourmet Glatt  was once again a  sponsor of the bi-annual charity concert series, Harmony, which showcases performances by talented women and girls from throughout the Five Towns community. For the second consecutive time, proceeds from the concert series went to the Tova youth mentoring program, which handled all the logistical arrangements, including promotion and ticket sales, for the three sold-out shows.
Gourmet Glatt raised the excitement level at each performance by giving out gift food platters to audience members in randomly selected seats and by creating a photo op station (complete with photographer) for cast members and their families.
Winners of the gift platters were Mrs. Lizzy Ross, Mrs. Rachel Salzberg and Mrs. Lani Zoldan (fruit); Ms. Daniella Halpern, Mrs. Lily Kreindler, Mrs. Esther Glick, and Mrs. Daphne Stern (bakery); Mrs. Gila Henisch, Mrs. Riki Feintuch, and Mrs. Faigy Bokow (sushi).
