Gourmet Glatt Takes a Seat at the Table
As if there isnít enough happening around the store on a winter Friday morning, a recent live webcast of the popular Nachum Segal Network (NSN) show, –hosted by the ever-vivacious Naomi Nachman, aka the Aussie Gourmet–definitely upped the energy levels.
The first of a series of in-store Table for 2 webcasts scheduled to take place this year, the January 10th event marked the 60th anniversary of well-known hot dogs and provisions company Abeles & Heymann/Hod Golan. The program featured wine and food tastings, a cooking demo, food sample giveaways, and interviews with a number of special guests, including Jay Buchsbaum, vice president of marketing for Royal Wines, and his colleague Shlomo Blashka.
The webcast was also an occasion to announce Gourmet Glattís official sponsorship of the Whatís for Dinner? segment of Naomi’s weekly program–and Naomiís new role as the store’s cooking consultant.

Part of the Community, Partners in the Community
Gourmet Glatt is proud to be an official sponsor of the upcoming Harmony X Concert Series, which will benefit TOVA–a program that provides adult mentors to Jewish youngsters struggling with academic, social and emotional issues.
“We believe we have a responsibility to use our resources and services to impact the local and wider Jewish community in a positive way,” says Gourmet Glattís Yoeli Steinberg. “The Harmony concert gives us an opportunity to both support a longstanding community event and help a worthy organization carry out its vital work.”
A small sampling of other recent Gourmet Glatt efforts on behalf of Torah and chesed causes around town, around the city and around the world would include: providing snacks and drinks to father and son chavrusos at Motzoei Shabbos Avos UíBanim learning programs held at Bostoner Bais Medrash (Lawrence), Yeshiva of South Shore (Hewlett), Shteeble (Rabbi Spiegel/Cedarhurst) and Aish Kodesh (Woodmere); providing upwards of 100 Yom Tov meals for families of hospitalized patients serviced by Achiezer Community Resource Center; providing water bottles to participants in the 5K run/walkathon for Our Place, an organization for at-risk youth; providing snacks and drinks to riders in a bike-a-thon for Friendship Circle, an international nonprofit organization that promotes friendships between teenage volunteers and special needs children; and providing refreshments at a community-wide Siyum (held at Shar Yoshuv) that capped off an Hakoras Hatov Shabbos marking one year since Hurricane Sandy.
Quality and Value, a Package Deal
Anyone who’s ever dealt with purchasing manager Howie Klagsbrun (and who hasn’t?) would likely describe him as a calm and collected guy. But just ask him about the store’s new Great Deals@Gourmet program–and you can count on a pretty excited response.
“I’ve always been focused on bringing our customers the highest quality merchandise at great prices. But with our new Great Deals@Gourmet campaign, we’ve set the bar for outstanding value higher than ever before.”
So what should customers expect from the new campaign?
“They should expect lower-than-ever weekly sales prices. They should expect amazing special promotions and rewards in virtually every department. And because they never know what new and creative deal is just around the corner, they should always expect the unexpected.”
Concierge Service: New Name, Longstanding Policy
Gourmet Glatt shoppers have always known about our extraordinary customer assistance policy, but now it’s gotten an official name–Concierge Service.
The basic premise behind Concierge Service is to make the shopping experience as pleasant and easy as possible. Need help loading the car? Want your special meat or produce order ready when you come into the store? Whatever your personal shopping request, our concierge service department will be happy to take care of it.
Our new FasTrack option, which allows shoppers who are short on time to skip the check-out process, is a particularly exciting component of Concierge Service. The groceries are packed up and delivered to the customerís home within the normal delivery time frame.
A Chanukah to Remember
Chanukah is far behind us, but the memories linger. And no wonder: “We set out to celebrate the season as never before,” says Yoeli Steinberg, “And to hear our customers tell it, we succeeded.”
The fun started with a pre-Chanukah extravaganza featuring a concert by the inimitable Lipa, lots of great food and a variety of gifts and attractions for kids, including face painting and a juggling act. The festivities continued throughout Chanukah with many special giveaways, flash sales and other surprises for children and adults alike.
On the seventh night of Chanukah, the store took the party outside as it once again teamed up with Chabad of The Five Towns for a community-wide menorah lighting at Cedarhurst’s Andrew J. Parise Park. Spirits were high, as residents from throughout the community came together for an evening of dancing, entertainment and, of course (it was a Gourmet Glatt party after all), complimentary doughnuts and hot latkes.
